Does Trichomoniasis cause Pelvic Inflammatory Disease or infertility?

I had sex 7 months ago but was diagnosed with Trichomoniasis during a routine pap smear/std checkup. Does Trichomoniasis cause Pelvic Inflammatory Disease or infertility?

I had protected sex with a condom on so how did i catch it? Can it be spread through oral sex or contaminated fingers?
I dont have any symptoms of this infection.

    Any STD left untreated can cause both problems. There are a number of variables of transmission of a virus when it comes to sex. You state that you had a condom on during sex but if you continued to have some sort of post sex play sans the condom you may have gotten it that way due to body fluids being still present on other parts of your body and transferred to your genital region. Trichinosis is easy to treat (doxycycline) and should be brought to the attention of your health care provider right away.
