I read somewhere that glandular fever can cause infertility in males, can it also be true of females?
Melynda asked:
I am a female and i had glandular fever when i was about 15 years old, i am now 22. I was told that it could be possible that the glandular fever i had at that age may have caused me to become infertile. Has anyone else heard of this?

You may be getting confused with mumps, which is an infection of the salivary glands in the mouth. a bout of mumps during their teenage years can cause fertility problems later for men. It doesn’t affect women in this way.
