What bible quotes are used to back up a Roman Catholics view towards banning infertility treatments?

. asked:

This is for an essay, I am not having children.

Roman catholics ban fertility treatments because
-they involve fertilization outside the womb, and god intended sex to be the only method of procreation.
-processes using IVF involve embroyos being wasted, similar to abortion.

But why do they say these things?
What bible passage support this?
I’ve done alot of research, I just need a bible passage.

The teachings of the Roman Catholic Church don’t just come straight out of the Bible like some other Christians. You can’t always find a Bible verse that specifically says something is wrong. Instead of asking people on Yahoo Answers this kind of question and risk getting a bunch of uneducated opinions and rude comments about the Catholics, why don’t you do some real research? There are plenty of books and stuff out there about Catholic sexual ethics that can explain this a lot better than random strangers on the internet. Is this what passes for research these days?!

Edit: See, I told you you would get people insulting Catholic views instead of actually answering your question.

It might be better to post this question in the religion section or check out the Catholic forums (google it) to see if they can help you out.

one thing u have to understand about the catholics is they follow traditions not always scripture. Some of the scripture is taken out of contex other ideas are so jacked up its not even funnie.. i was a catholic for 17 years until I got saved. my views have changed alot but I have alot of Catholic family that I love. Dont worry yourself On things like this. If you feel you need to know the answer to this ask the Holy Spirit he will tell you!

You’re not going to find specific bible quotes- not everything within the Catholic faith is tied to a quote.

Read here for a better understanding of the reasoning:

And I agree with the person who said that you should be doing real research- you’re going to get a lot of nonsense here. Try the religion section, instead of TTC.
